World’s brightest LED keyboard for artist Virtual Riot

  • Objectives: Create a visually stunning, programable, light-organ MIDI controller keyboard matching the artist’s aesthetics.

  • Contributions: Design, 3D modeling, PCB layouts, 3D printed keys with embedded LEDs and diffusion origami, CnC routed polycarbonate panels, hand-machined and finished aluminum edges, BlingOS operating system running on Teensy Arduino for user lighting preset editing and storage, 3D printed power supply, and assembly.

  • Status: Delivered October 2023, debut on-stage for Stealing Fire Tour September 2024.

  • Additionally: Custom “POVR Headset” accessory created by HappenCraft collaborator Turner Kirk with consultancy from HappenCraft, providing an SD camera embedded in a stylized “dummy” VR mask.
