Live Mixing Experience

Audio + light mixing interactive for The Museum of Making Music

  • Objectives: Offer young people a playful simulation of what it’s like to be both a live sound engineer and a lighting technician at the same time.

  • Contributions: Physical UI design & fabrication with CnC laser, Interaction design with Cycling 74’ Max, Sound design with Ableton Live, sound-reactive lighting and manual lighting interaction with DMXis Show Buddy Active, controller programming with Behringer X-Touch Compact, assembly, installation.

  • Status: Installed April 2024 as part of a new, permanent exhibit.

  • Additionally: Sound content provided by Soundtrack Loops.

  • Thanks: Museum staff for creating the podium & mural.
